NEWS - Syquest Settles with Nomai:

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 1997--SyQuest Technology, Inc.
(NASDAQ:SYQT) today announced that it has reached an agreement with Nomai, S.A. of Avranches, France, settling the lawsuit it filed against Nomai in January of 1997 in Federal District Court in San Francisco for patent, copyright, and trademark infringement and certain other causes of action.

Under the terms of the agreement, Nomai will be granted a royalty-bearing license to produce 3 inch and 5 inch replacement cartridges for SyQuest removable disk drives. As part of the settlement agreement, the two companies will enter into a cross-licensing arrangement and Nomai will begin to sell SyQuest products on a private label basis.

"This relationship with Nomai will mark the beginning of a new era of cooperation between our two companies and is expected to open new sales channels for SyQuest and its award-winning SyJet product," said Ed Marinaro, SyQuest's chairman.
