Yes, there are cheap stocks out there. MUHLX has some holdings that are appearing on my radar screen, e.g. ANV & ACK. But I'm not comfortable with their heavy emphasis on financial issues, especially the insurance companies whose value is in their investment portfolios, the brokers that depend on bull markets and an interested public, and airlines, that depend on cheap oil and prosperous travelers.
I've been buying beaten up tech stocks that have earnings, good balance sheets and a price near book value, and oil service stocks that seem to me to be screaming buys. My timing is a little early, but I'd rather be there than in DELL. And, of course, puts in overpriced glamor stocks when I can find cheap premiums and lots of time.
Either way, we agree that there are overpriced stocks to avoid or short and bargains to be bought. Hopefully we are both right as to which stocks those are.
