Re: offtopic

Bosco,
You really seem to catch the brain of the current market. I can assure You that from F.U.D. (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) regarding X86-semi companies, currently the U, "uncertainty" prevails. Pls. bear in mind that INTC will just drop its prices on PENTIUM CPU's, not on its Pentium II or PPro products. Since AMD X86-K6 and Cyrix forthcoming M2 are positioned against Pentium II( Klamath), all three will thrive and the price cutting is just a move by INTC to preempt the obsolescence of its P55C inventory. It's like a sell-out to make room for the new. Intel is really vulnerable with such a pile of "old" Penium level (non MMX) inventory.

However I think that INTC mid term strategy will not meet the liking of the market. Patenting and artificially (e.g. by other means than just plain speed to market and being the first) closing and open architecture (read: Slot One SCAM) will not be judged favourable by OEM's and consumers alike, even more if there are viable alternatives like now. So I think INTC had better change its strategy this year. They aren't in a hurry - they will have plenty of time.

This means: limited potential for INTC, BIG POTENTIAL for AMD, CYRX and IDTI (soon <G>) after INTC lawsuit is announced). Also, I would not try to attribute all the market's correction of "OVERBOUGHT" situations (like CYRX today) to competitors or FUD. I really would like technical factors also at least equal parts of the blame, since this is what TA should be good for. <G>

Greetings,
CROSSY.
