More ghosts for Halloween?

As I've stated repeately, Iomega's greatest competition seems to be paper and press releases. Funny how these paper tigers either never seem to materialize or if/when they do somehow fall short. My first reaction to the Sony announcement was R.I.P. LS-120, but then it's doing such a fine job on its own that it hardly needs Sony to help drive nails into its coffin. Perhaps the Swan/Mitsumi UHC drive might be a better target? Haven't heard much about that one of late, though, so perhaps it died a "natural" death?

The fallacy of all such arguments is that it assumes that Iomega, one of the more innovative technology companies of the 90s, will placidly stand still while its competitors muster and that their plans will be executed flawlessly while Iomega will stumble.

But dreams are fun, aren't they?
