Bradley hopes to win Republican support for universal coverage in exchange for Dems agreeing to throw malpractice lawyers under the bus. The point is - if the government healthcare passes, the malpractice lawyers would be in trouble anyway -- there is no way a government healthcare system would pay to support our huge medico-legal industry. They would cut it down big time. Ergo, Bradley wants Reps to sell out for, practically speaking, nothing... For something which would happen in due course anyway.
