Summer is nothing but sports time, last week has been one busy week in Europe first of all was nail biting test match at my favourite Lords venue, England beat West Indies, we had a lot of fun, cricket may be a boring game but we ideal people love it.
Next was the finale of soccer we call it football that was one hell of a final I was not able to get the tickets but watched it live on tele. In last dying seconds French scored an equalizer. ( I had closed the tele in the 74th minute as I could not bear the sight of French losing - some loyalty here to what I consider as one of the best European country) Nesrin wanted to see the prize distribution and I had to once again watch what was a sure defeat for the world champs but in the dying seconds of injury time, French produced a great goal forcing the Italians into extra time and a golden goal by another french sealed the fate of Italy.
After this was Wimbeldon watched William beating Davenport, a match that looked very unlikely to start as clouds were heavy and until 20 minutes to the start covers were still on, Williams was great..
Pushed some buttons and got into rain interrupted Sampras v/s Rafter, Sampras should have won the first tie breaker in the first set but once he was on top the four sets game produced by Sampras was a class act..
Now I am back in Paris and will be looking forward to this new series of sports activities , tour is doing great without any scandals and I will love to watch the last moments from my balcony..
So Cricket, Soccer, Tennis and Cycling four major events are luckily being covered and being watched..
Our composition is so skewed Tim that we are ready to waste five full days to watch a match that could have no result, I am little happy as what else one can need in life, when you a find a five day cricket match being decided in three with two days to spare, I would have even enjoyed a draw but the spare two days gave me that chance to watch the soccer with attention it needed..
