Labour Shortage

Had an interesting discussion with my brother last night, he lives in Larder Lake. We were discussing Red Lake, Musselwhite (we have friends who work in these two mines), the Queenston properties around Kirkland and Larder, and what Q-Gold is doing SW of Kenora.

Seems the mining industry is not having an easy time finding people to mine. It is hard work, although I understand the pay can be very generous, and the average age of these people is getting into the high 40s. A lot of the people who mined in the KL and Larder area have since moved on or are not up to the task. I would expect that the mining industry is looking for the same pool of people as government (provincial, federal, state) and all private industry. Since personnel costs a big ticket item for any industry, I'm curious how this aspect of the industry will affect future prices. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the near future.

Just a humble opinion.

Regards
