Na. You're good to point out the strategy. I think I might do the same tomorrow. Like you said cheap insurance. Besides that I have several naked CPQ option positions that are looking good at this point. Buying insurance on them would cost too much. Buying insurance in a more volatile stock in the same sector makes sense to me.
