It will be interesting to see what his next big push speech will be and what specifically he will tell the students of America. The more I think about that, the more I shudder for the parents of America but more for their children. Surely Obama must know that not only has this NOT been done before in America, but he must know the reasons it has NOT been done...Just because he didn't grow up in the 40's and 50's and see the News on the Movie of the week at the local theaters, is no excuse for not knowing what Hitler did...including the Brown Shirts and the Youth Brigade... One of my friends was born in Germany, and remembers being a Brown Shirt....She was young then, and came to America young. They were told they were community helpers like Girl and Boy Scouts are here. UNTIL she knew what Hitler was...They were very fortunate to leave Germany while they still could. en.wikipedia.org histclo.com The more I think about this, and unless he lets Americans know what he is going to say a few days before he talks to the kids, I would keep mine home for the day, and have a home school situation with them myself. At least we could have a discussion about the values we hold dear, and who knows what their teachers would tell them.
