Remember, blue states don't count in 2008 and not a single swing state is decided by minority voters. Only bright blue states would elect a black and that is proven. Massachusetts and Illinois are the only ones who have ever elected a black to statewide office, at least that I'm aware of.

TN is not a blue state and it came fairly close to electing a black senator.

The problem for Obama is that he would jeopardize 3-4 light blue states which have few black voters; Iowa, Minnesota, Maine and New Hampshire.

That's not true. I am from MN. While there are racists there like everywhere, they are a very small percentage of the population.

A McCain or Romney type might easily pick those off from Obama. and Ohio would be very tough for Obama too. You can also forget about possible Dem states like Colorado, Montana, and Virginia.

I don't agree. I believe charisma transcends color.
