how they arrive at those prices Relative value scales... that was the name of the game since the mid- 80's. Highly "scientific" price fixing by committee (which, of course, can be manipulated and filled by interest groups - by whoever happens to have best political pull). We're so used to it we wouldn't even know what to do if those clowns were to be dismantled.
