Bush sincerity aside, it's a very good thing that he brought up renewables and conservation on the ultimate bully pulpit. Now (hopefully) smarter folks will get to work with a significant policy that goes farther than the Bush proposal, and he will have a much harder time with a veto.

Not many folks were talking about energy as a security issue even two years ago; now it's fast becoming a front burner issue. That's progress. I think things will happen before... but in the '08 election it will be a top 3 issue; maybe top 2 if we can get the hell out of Iraq by then.
