Ok, everyone - I apologize - the AVG is right there in my system tray - I must be on drugs! The reason I didn't see it is because when I went over it with the mouse, I thought because it said "scheduling enabled" that it was one of those Windows maintenance schedules - I had no idea that it was the AVG symbol! I figured that out when I rechecked the msconfig and indeed found the avgcc32! Sorry about that! I suppose the "shutdown AVG control center" is how you disable the software, right?
