Thanks, Roo. Exact lengths are not critical, there are desks that extra wire can be curled behind. The cable company dropped a line from the drop ceiling to the cable modem. One run involves going back up, then above the ceiling to the next room, then down thru a closet and along the floor. Will hide the drop and back up with channel molding. A local computer store will cut exact length for reasonable price, I will check out what Staples have available. I have crimped regular co-ax cable in the past, but, I don't think this one time job justifies buying a crimper. The info on cat 5 is valuable. Wish me luck! larry
