"Tomorrow, I will introduce legislation that will prohibit the use of funds to continue the deployment of U.S. forces in Iraq six months after enactment. By prohibiting funds after a specific deadline, Congress can force the President to bring our forces out of Iraq and out of harm’s way."

Didn't I predict this about a month or two ago? Cut funds with a future deadline, voila, it's up to GB to bring the troops home prior to the deadline or have them out there unpaid.

Yes, you did. Nonetheless, it still came as a surprise given the jawboning and backpedaling we've been hearing the past couple of weeks from Congress.
