Paraphrased from a joke I heard while in India (it was about Indians and Pakistanis when I heard it in India, for obvious reasons):
A Republican, a Democrat and a Green Party supporter were on a train going down to Florida.
The Republican was a nice Georgia man, a southern gentleman, well dressed, with a nice hat. The Democrat was a New York guy, street-wise and smart -- an engineer and artist, with a little money made in the stock market. The Green party supporter was a very pretty 24 year old woman, still finding her way in the world.
The conversation was a bit strained after the introductions were made, as you can imagine, and soon the two guys were sitting as far away as possible from each other while still trying to be near the woman.
Suddenly the cabin went completely dark as the lights went out while the train went thru a tunnel. There was total silence and then suddenly there a big kissing sound followed by the smack of a huge slap!
The train came out of the tunnel and every one looked around, dazed, blinking at the lights, trying to avoid each other's eyes.
The woman thought: "that nasty Republican! I'm sure he thought he could kiss me while everything was dark and accidentally kissed the Democrat and got slapped hard for it. Serves him right!"
The Republican thought: "Oh god, I got slapped by the pretty lady! I'm sure the Democrat thought he could kiss her while everything was dark and she thought it was me and slapped me!"
All this while, the Democrat was thinking: "Ouch ouch, my hand, I think I broke it! I hope the kiss sounded real! C'mon, one more tunnel!"
