Racom Systems, Inc.
Racom Systems develops and markets contactless smart card systems, which use a direct wireless radio frequency communication between a ferroelectric random access memory chip in the smart card and a terminal. The company's smart card systems are used for access to restricted areas, public transportation fare collection, and point of sale purchases. Its systems are sold through its direct sales force through joint ventures and strategic alliances and through selective licensing and distributorship arrangements with independent sales representatives. The company's customers have included the Hong Kong International Airport, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, and the Chicago Transit Authority.

Based on the above, I don't think Racom has the larger chance of being what was talked about in the article IMHO.
