Rumor had it that the place (Ascend, Alameda) was buzzing that Cisco was going to aquire them. That has to be one of the most ridiculous comments I've seen in a while. Why would Cisco want to purchase ASND? CSCO has strong ATM switching (note the recent US West win - more to come?), CSCO owns the router business, and Cisco is gaining market share quickly in the RAS market. So, what would be the justification? Gary (not Korn)
