OFF TOPIC...But RELATED:

I was told today by my brokerage firm the following and want to know if anyone has information to prove otherwise.

* Stocks that are held in street STAY in YOUR account and can not be traded without your knowledge or approval.

* It is required that a special form be signed "Authorizing" them to allow the stock to be "loaned" or shorted by someone else.

A) I have been under the impression that ANY stock(s)held in STREET was available for margin trading.

B) That stocks held in street went into a "POOL" and were available to traders and market makers to "borrow" as in shorting the stock.

If you are reading this post and are WELL versed on this matter would you be so kind as to post a reply. Keep it simple as possible so newbies can UNDERSTAND. Please avoid using "lingo" specific to traders as not all of us may understand the lingo yet. There MUST be others new to trading that do not understand this matter completely but, don't want to ask. I am not afraid of asking questions and lots of them. If I ask a question and the respondent is not clear in their response I ask for clarification. By using the KIS approach you can help a lot of people new to investing.

Thanks,

Dusty~
