IS,

All fads eventually end. Whether kid-related (Coleco/Cabbage Patch) or not (Consolidated Cigar), they eventually fall apart. The time to short them is usually AFTER they peak, not before. At the very least, the financials need to show a clear slowing of sales before the short is worthwhile.

KIDE is certainly not there now, but it is worthwhile watching. Most fad companies have absolutely no way to sustain themselves once the fad is over. They become inevitable GTOs.

However, if you're interested in fads, you would be focusing on internet stocks. The appetite for those things is arguably the largest, most expensive and (ultimately) most damaging fad in decades. But like all fads, it's tough to judge when or why the end will come.
