David Kuspa >Scott, many of us do not have time to wade through dozens of postings that really are not that germain to AAPL as an investment. As a founding SI member, I have found that my time on threads has increased mostly due to chatter.<

1) I agree 100% with David.

This isn't about censorship but courtesy and the best use of everyone's valuable time.

When I post a commentary, I try very hard to be on-topic (events which drive AAPL stock price -- and AAPL is an event-driven stock), concise and not to be repetitive of other posts.

I hope this thread will attract like-minded contributors and be an invaluable asset (even to those who never post.)

Linda Kaplan >Received the battery, battery recharger, and the Virtual PC software from MacWarehouse today. Now I need the computer and the RAM.

Is there a site that gives diagrams of the insides of the 3400 in case the opening of the box and
the positioning of the RAM card isn't completely obvious?<

I rest my case.

Linda, I work at a computer store in New York City that's has been rated A-plus for service by a New York Magazine (and we strive to remain worhy.) When you buy a computer from us, the ram is tested and installed for free. With sound/video and graphic specialists on salary, we also do our best to support both novice and experienced users with the panoply of issues.

Compu-d/Chip Merchant/MacWarehouse are micro-margin mail order houses with commissioned salesman and minimum-wage packers. (We refer to MacWarehouse as MacWhorehouse.) If can't get technical support from them, join a local Mac user's group or call 1-800-SOS-APPL -- you have 90 days free phone support coming to you.

Congratulations on a cheap price (and there's nothing wrong with that) but it's not fair to ask members of this thread to pick up the slack on the support side. (At least do it via e-mail.)

Scott Crumley>For me this whole issue of misleading reporting strikes at core issue regarding one's decision to invest in Apple. On the one hand, the current tendency to misrepresent Apple gives those of us who are aware of it, an edge. On the other hand is the possibility that if they lie long enough, it will eventually become the truth, as the resultant negative perception of Apple could strangle Apple's revenues at this critical juncture.<

3) Well said! I've been thinking the same thing for awhile but couldn't put it into words.
