Disclosure : Long MSFT, coz I am not convinced a proven DI in their gorilla space has shown up yet.

While I agree with this notion of Moore's, in principle, I think there can be other reasons to sell a gorilla. For example,

1. a change in management, or management being unfocused, ie Gates becoming too arrogant; or my greatest fear, Irwin Jacobs retires or worse, becomes ill.

2. BTW, could Government intervention constitute a "discontinuous innovation"? or a "disruptive technology"?
