Dear Threaders,

Before we start popping champagne corks about the prospect of Rhodes hitting the road, a few sobering thoughts.

1. These men are, as the saying goes, "thick as thieves." (I don't know why that particular expression came to mind . . ..) Because of that, and the low cunning that they have shown, it is easy to imagine an unhappy scenario: Rhodes formally resigns from Paracelsian, as a sop to disgrunteled stockholders (i.e., us)--and then is quietly re-hired as a "consultant." His duties? Precisely the ones he had while Chairman of the Board and President. Everything changes, but nothing changes.

2. Even if Rhodes really goes, the other vermin remain. These are the ones who have provided aid and comfort to the enemy. Not only did they not fire Rhodes, they have been part of a strategy to protect him. Or else to protect themselves, to hide their complicity. They initiated the suit against John Babish (I have already agreed with Robin that this is a nuisance suit designed to limit Babish's freedom to speak, and to act). And they refused to satisfy the demmands of Babish and T. Colin Campbell in the so-called "demand letter," posted on this Thread just before the Stockholders' Meeting. Consequently, I find it impossible to believe that either Campbell or Babish would return to the Company while they remain. We need a thorough housecleaning, not just one resignation.

It would be quite different a matter, of course, if Rhodes were to leave upon criminal indictment, e.g. for fraud, or for stock manipulation. Then, I think, the others would run for cover--like the roaches they are.

Jonathan
