OT!! The post below talks about baby boomers because they represent the largest voting power base in the country.

I would like to express some views with regard to the poll. Please don't be offended as they are just that, my views. It seems to me that most of us would like to see some changes in the system. I often find myself talking Social Security, taxes and other tough issues with clients and at the dinner table and I'm sure many of you do too. A nagging feeling that keeps coming back is that we all talk about change but when the chips are down we keep voting for NO CHANGE. IMHO, Steve Forbes presents us with an interesting opportunity. In him we have a man that seems interested in changing SS and the tax code in ways that would help many younger individuals to build wealth in their own name as opposed to paying 15.3% (Just SS) of our income (7.65 individual - 7.65 employer) to a government that will eventually dole it out like an annuity payment as they see fit. The problem we're faced with is that although we all talk a big game nobody wants to change the current system. In the 60's the Baby Boomers were loud and ferocious about changing the system. They fought the system for change and pledged that they would not become old and "out of touch." Well guess what, many of them have become, if not old and out of touch, complacent. They have adopted the same attitude that they fought with their parents about. It's the "I've got mine attitude." Now that they have assumed positions of power they no longer see the world in the cynical way that they did when they were fighting the system. Why? Because they got theirs! Life is good so why change the system? Here is why. We have all become slaves to a fat government that thinks they can handle our money and finances better than we, the tax payer. They have come to this conclusion through all the financial disasters and yet still retain an attitude of fiscal omnipotence. Now I can't sit here and say that Steve Forbes can change the world. Clearly there are some issues about whether he can appease both sides of the isle with his agenda of change. But at this point he is the only candidate that I am aware of who has the stones to try. It's time to change this system folks. Remember that when you vote.

Just my opinion
