off topic.....Oh, Billy-boy...sorry to hear that I've caused such pain in you, having to hold your tongue so long. Not easy for a Gator typically, is it? THose Gators still holding those UF 28, national champion 3 bumper stickers on their cars after beating UM in their opener in 83 in Bernie's first game, with the CAnes going on to win the rest of the way and beat Fryar's undefeated Nebraska team in the OB?
Yeah, I have it coming...the Canes looks mediocre at best, and no depth to boot, so if they're close early in the second half, they will lose down the stretch. THe lack of scholarships combined with a few underclassmen leaving last year has hurt a lot. However, a couple of guys on this year's team appear to be really big jerks, like #48, the track guy who just got a football scholarship in time to get in a fight with a 150 lb. student on campus over an issue relating to not liking the music being played at the campus Rathskeller....gimme a break! Suspended indefinitely, and deservedly so, but poor Butch is going to have to suit up himself soon the way things are going. UF sure looks tough, and FSU will look very good this week vs. UM unfortunately....can tell you that my allegiance doesn't change regardless of the record...used to go to games as a kid when they'd be 3-8 and with Carl Selmer coaching. Those fair-weathered fans annoy me....a plane toting around a banner at the OB last week thanking Butch Davis sarcastically for changing national champs to national chumps...real nice. UF looks awesome, but I'll still root against them every week.....only human nature for most people with any sense of morals!! :)
Reasons to hang on to RAIN: The story is just starting. They are not the typical restaurant...these them restaurants aren't truly about food. PHII is going into hotel stuff, for instance. Hard ROck does tons of retail, like PHII, and it looks like RAIN is heading that way, too. Also, the characters have a real appeal and could be a huge marketing success eventually, luring the kids far more than any other theme restaurants...comic books, cartoons, etc....throw in the disney influence, and boom. They are just starting to open up restaurants, and some of the new locations will be huge, covering for the ups and downs of school starting far better and other such problems. Disney village now has the support of recently opened Downtown Disney....pleasure island and disney marketplace(where RAIN is) now loaded with lots of other places as part of development, with restaurants, clubs, shops, etc, and a soon to be opened lego amusement center.....is turning out to be a whole new place to spend a day for families unto itself, and RAIN will likely only get bigger there as a result. The animal kingdom park will be huge, too, and MGM and others should be phenomenal. As much as RAIN has gone up as of late, it really hasn't taken off yet, such as DANB has this year. With the delays they have been slowed quite a bit, so continuing to open at least close to on time, with more announced upcoming locations and no major mistakes by management gives me reason to believe that 30 is not even beginning to reach its potential, although a heckuva nice gain at this point(and who would complain with a 50% gain in less than one year?!). As it goes up it just might be worth following more closely so as not to risk any major drops(like a stop loss type of thing), but the story just looks to be unfolding at this point. On the other hand, if the Canes were a stock, I think I would have sold 2-3 years ago, as I don't fall in love with stocks like my sports allegiances!! :)
From what I know of Nasdaq stop loss orders, many do, but most still don't. Big ones, like Fidelity, typically don't. Just makes you have to follow closely with a mental stop loss, and monitoring this way has some advantages, like following the news closely enough to truly note when there is true reason to implement stop loss vs. buying more when it is simply negative herd following secondary to panic. FWIW, I typically do most of my trading through a major who doesn't do nasdaq stop losses....the benefits outweigh some of the negatives...slightly more expensive commissions, but great service with few problems and higher volume allows greater likelihood of trades happening when they truly should, often allowing a price which makes the difference for the commissions easily, and especially considering I don't really have the time to do much active following during the day.
If you wan't to discuss it further, maybe we should take it to e-mail, if you haven't forgotten what that means being a Gator and all!! Also, you may want to check out our sports board...news yesterday about merger may be of interest.
Take care,
