Dollar Falls Against Yen on Report Suharto May Resign Today
The dollar fell for a second day against the yen on news Indonesian President Suharto may resign today, traders said. The Jakarta Post reported that Suharto may announce at 9 a.m. Japan is the biggest lender to Indonesia, making the yen very sensitive to signs of political instability in Indonesia.
