I don't think TG-3 will be Flin-Flon grade wise, but it's going to be good. Jury is out on TG-3 until they fill in the gaps. When they get the 22 holes back they will have a good start on a 500 by 500 meter area in the SW of the gravity anomaly. The Flin-Flon, Horne etc are quite different because they are Archean, without barite etc. TG is looking more like it's cousins in Japan, the Kuroko deposits, but much larger lenses. Kuroko stuff runs an average of 1.5-2% copper, 3-4% zinc, 1% lead, 1 g/t Au and 95 g/t Ag.
The Rio Puira track might follow along some of the structures- there is a sharp bend into the TG-4 to TG-1 segment and then to TG-3 and TG-7. These are probably your two dominant structural trends.
Here are some interesting numbers on past/presnt VMS mines to put TG into perspective (numbers from 1992 and 1994):
Horne Mine 54.3 Mt (million tonnes) 2.22% Cu, 6.1 g/t Au, 13 g/t Ag Louvicourt Mine 15.7 Mt 3.4% Cu, 2.2% Zn, 0.9 Au, 31 g/t Ag Mattagami Lake Mine 25.6 Mt 0.42% Cu, 5.1% Zn, 0.3 g/t Au, 21.6 g/t Ag Detour Lake Mine A1 Zone 32.1 Mt 0.39% Cu, 2.3% Zn, 0.31 g/t Au, 35.66 g/t Ag Flin Flon Mine 62.9 Mt 2.2% Cu, 4.1% Zn, 2.85 g/t Au, 43.2 g/t Ag Neves Corvo Cu rich 30.3 Mt 7.81% Cu, 1.33% Zn Neves Corvo Zn rich 32.6 Mt 0.46% Cu, 5.72% Zn Kidd Creek Mine 117.5 Mt 2.2% Cu, 7.25% Zn, 0.28% Pb, 147.43 g/t Ag Rio Tinto 150 Mt 0.85% Cu, 1.53% Zn, 1.25% Pb
Noranda Inc. was built on Horne, they even built a smelter on it. Falconbridge's flagship is Kidd Creek, and it's smelter. RTZ was built on the Rio Tinto deposit. Aur's Louvicourt with 15 Mt went into production in 1994, and is still in operation today.
Who sez that Tambo Grande ain't significant?? The market? The same rational market that has Microsoft worth more than the DOW. When was the last time you saw a mining news release with bold statements like the last one MAN released? The management at MAN knows they are onto something- they are willing to bet three drills turning on TG-3 and another drill program on TG-6 and 7. Maybe the market will wake up with a good news release every two weeks for three months. By the time the market reacts there might be 100 million tonnes of goodies and a hell of a price to pay for a share of MAN. But in this market who knows... |
