 CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Plug In Carolina today announced it has selected diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation (NYSE:ETN) to supply and support a network of public electric vehicle (EV) “re-fueling” stations in eight South Carolina cities. The implementation of the charging network is underway to support the variety of new EVs entering the roadways. The project was previously awarded to another firm but has been reassigned to Eaton as they have the ability to meet the immediate needs of the project.
 
 The project, which launched June 15, 2010, is funded by two state grants secured through the South Carolina Energy Office and features a family of charging stations with multi-port configuration, these are user friendly and lends themselves to a cost-effective electrical installation. The stations will be deployed in Greenville, Spartanburg, Blythewood, Columbia, Charleston, Rock Hill, Union, and Myrtle Beach, at key re-fueling hubs in each city.
