Excellent memory! This happened after they were in deep yogurt due to their IBM involvement. They brought in Q.T. Wiles (current address should be a federal penetentiary) from Hambricht and Quist.

He and his turn-around cronies were doing UNBELIEVABLE bullsh*t. They had their people put BRICKS (I am not making this up!) in disk drive boxes, ship them to a rented warehouse, and recorded the transactions as SALES of disk drives!

Eventually, MAXTOR bought out the remains of the company after the bankruptcy proceedings.
