I too am a great believer in Intel as a company. While I have not held as long as you, I am happy with my earnings.

What has made Intel such a great buy is that it has been misappraised by the market--treated like a semiconductor commodity or cyclical stock and not a branded consumer item. The street is changing on that, which is why the stock is up 50% this year and the DRAM chip makers are still bouncing around at their lows.

What should temper your enthusiasm for Intel is looking not at earnings but "owner earnings": earnings plus depreciation LESS capital spending. That's where Intel's cash flow cannot support a high multiple.
