I just put 'gerbil' into search, and found the earlier exchange. I see I said in response to a post by LRR that i was also suspicious about whether the story was true or not, and told the gerbil story.
My last comment to you on this subject came when I realized that you had somehow misconstrued my comments. You had said to me,

so, to clarify, I wrote to you,
