Four Decades long? Didn't Affirmative action begin under Nixon? If Democrats want to talk about race, fine. But then, we'll have to bring up the issue of redlining, where Democrats live. Aren't the most segregated cities in America now places like Millwaukee, New York and Chicago? How do you think a Southerner must feel having a Democrat from MN or NY lecture them about race, when the most segregated metro area (with populations > 1,000,000) in the country is in Minnesota?

Since you're from the west coast, explain how conservative Orange County California is less segregated than liberal Seattle, or San Francisco.
