I did argue against subsidies multiple times, including subsidies for the oil industry. I'm against subsidies in general but a subsidy for oil exploration isn't as bad as a subsidy for lawsuits. Actually neither instance is really an earmark, and the case with the lawyers isn't exactly a subsidy. Its worse then most subsidies. If fully implemented this idea would destroy the securitization of mortgages, and cause other problems. With the housing market already week now is a pretty bad time to knock demand down, and even in the best of times this is a horrible policy.
