Agreement Supports Spectrum's Industry Standard COTS+ Strategy

For DSP Products

BURNABY, B.C., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectrum Signal Processing

(Nasdaq-NNM: SSPIF/TSE: SSY) today announced that it has signed an agreement

with GreenSpring Computers Inc. of Menlo Park, California, a subsidiary of SBS

Technologies (Nasdaq-NNM: SBSE) for the joint development and marketing of

four IndustryPack(R) mezzanine I/O modules and carrier boards. The agreement

also has a provision for Spectrum to resell select products in GreenSpring's

other product lines. Under the terms of the agreement both Spectrum and

GreenSpring will have the right to sell jointly developed products into their

respective markets.

"Access to the IndustryPack module for our DSP carrier boards will

significantly expand the functional utilization available from Spectrum," said

Barry Jinks, Spectrum's President & CEO. "We chose to support IndustryPacks

as one of our primary mezzanine modules because we wanted to offer customers a

proven and widely accepted industry standard. The adoption of the ANSI/VITA

4-1995 standard for IndustryPacks assures our customers a wide range of proven

I/O functions for our DSP boards. This will allow us to provide more than

just a basic COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) solution to our customers, it

allows us to offer true COTS+ solutions."

"As the largest DSP systems company in North America, Spectrum is a

welcome addition to the growing family of IndustryPack partners," commented

Joseph Zabkar, President of GreenSpring. "We have targeted DSP applications

as areas of growth for our product line of over 100 IndustryPack modules. We

anticipate that future product development with Spectrum will expand the

IndustryPack product line even further."
