Yes, I read an article on Divx, too. I believe in the Dallas Morning News. I didn't get much more info than you did. Until they announce a product that is TV/computer compatible, I don't think we'll see THE ultimate 'platter' that they are seeking.
Well, they're avoiding it somewhat, too, as that increases copying caabilities and lowers profit. Tsk. Tsk.
