Coram Healthcare Enters Into Agreement With AmeriHealth HMO of Texas, Inc.

DENVER, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Coram Healthcare (NYSE: CRH), a leading national provider of alternate site infusion therapies, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with AmeriHealth HMO of Texas, Inc.

Under the agreement, Coram will provide AmeriHealth's 60,000 covered lives in Texas access to a variety of prescription drug therapies that are delivered intravenously in a patient's home or other alternate site setting. Coram's broad range of infusion therapies includes, among others, total parenteral nutrition and overall nutrition support, pain management and antibiotic treatments.

The agreement will be serviced through Coram's Houston service center and will reach patients residing in Houston and surrounding communities. Coram has three other service centers in Texas: Dallas, Austin and El Paso.

"We are pleased to enter into an agreement with AmeriHealth, a rapidly growing HMO with operations in eight states. We hope this association will serve as a foundation for growing our relationship with AmeriHealth in other markets and look forward to serving its Houston-area patients," stated Ray McCaslin, Regional Vice President for Coram's Mid-South Region.

Since beginning business as AmeriHealth in southern New Jersey and the state of Delaware in 1995, Philadelphia-based AmeriHealth has grown statewide in New Jersey and added operations in New York, Penn., Kentucky, Vermont, Texas and Fla.
