CIB is the financial arm of the Sindicato Antioqueo conglomerate, just as I thought. Which is high profile down there.

Colombian stocks end higher led by Bavaria

BOGOTA, April 13 (Reuters) - Colombian stocks ended higher in lackluster trading Monday that saw gainers led by most active brewing and beverage company Bavaria SA <BAV.BG>.

Bogota's IBB <.IBB> rose 0.36 percent to close at 1,220.45 on lower-than-average turnover of just 1.2 billion pesos after the four-day holiday weekend. Medellin's IBOMED general price index added 0.78 percent, ending at 17,189.93. Winners outstripped losers in Medellin by five-to-three.

Bavaria, the country's largest private company outside the financial sector, rose 2.41 percent in Bogota where it closed at 8,665 per share.

The company gained 3.46 percent in Medellin, meanwhile, on the back of what brokers described as positive fallout from its shareholders meeting on March 31.

BanColombia <BIC.BG>, the bank formed by the recent merger of Banco de Colombia and Banco Industrial Colombiano, closed up 1.17 percent in Bogota at 3,540 pesos per share and up 1.45 percent in Medellin, where it ended at 3,500 per share.

BanColombia, Colombia's largest bank in terms of assets, is the financial arm of the Sindicato Antioqueo conglomerate.

Other winners included Cementos Paz del Rio <CPZ.BG>, which closed up 2.56 percent in Medellin at 1,200 pesos a share.
