I agree. I am waiting for a reply to my post # 27 and we can put a price on WIND. While I may buy more at these levels, I already own plenty.

I believe Microtec Research allowed itself to be acquired cheaply by Mentor Graphics because it was demonstrably unable to compete successfully against WIND, INTS and MWAR (the soon to be symbol for Microware). Its difficulty porting VRTX to the PowerPC seemed to be the straw that broke their spirit. It also seems clear that both INTS and MWAR are seeking dominance in niche markets rather than pursue the broad, horizontal tools and RTOS markets like WIND.

INTS probably is struggling backfilling its tool set, after having its strategy disrupted by Microtec’s acquisition of Ready Systems, and rationalizing all its acquisitions. But they must be doing something right, because their stock is advancing nicely, rarely falling back.

MWAR should be a big player in video and wireless. MWAR seems to have a clear and focused strategy for these two areas, strengthened by powerful alliances with major players in these markets. It should IPO next week or so.

Ultimately I think WIND will be the biggest winner of the three, the future equivalent of Oracle in the database market. If, as you say, WIND stock price is basing now, then this may the last opportunity for anyone to get on board at these levels.
