If you want a cheap system now for trading
First get a cable modem - $40-50 a month - 1.5Mb/s

System

Pentinum II with a 266 celeron (overclock the celeron to 350-400)
Stealth II G460 AGP and Stealth S220 PCI video cards with windows 98
These two cards support the two monitor setup - many don't
Abit BX6 motherboard with 100MHz bus
128 Meg of PC-100 sdram
Segate medalist pro 4.3G (7500rpm)

Throw in a case, floppy, CD-rom, keyboard and mouse

I recently built this system for $1100 (without monitor) and it runs like a bat out of hell for trading. When the price of the 400Mhz chips fall in 6-8 months I will replace my celeron and may throw in another 128 of ram.

Best Regards
KEITH
