Soitec Lands Big AMD Order e-insite.net Take a look at that growth forecast from Gartner Dataquest! The usual spin is to present a huge market and assume your contestant grabs a decent share of it. This goes way beyond that: 40% ($ amount) of all silicon wafers shipped in 2008 will be from Soitec! soitec.com The order is the largest in Soitec’s history, both in number of wafers and in dollar amount. In September it dipped down to 'just' 6X current sales (annualized, based on first-half through September). We're already back to 14X at yesterday's close of 19+ euros. However, looking ahead to projected 2008 sales of 7.3B euros, we're only at 0.15X. I might have been tempted if I'd been watching. <g> Assuming year-over-year growth for the December quarter of 100%, which would be a significant slowdown from the ~150% they've been doing, sales for the current quarter will be 26.8M euros. That'll make 79.4M for the 2001 calendar year. To get from there to 7.3B in six years will require compounded sales growth of 112%. "Not too shabby." WT
