Mein Herr Jock-e: I would use the word hutz-pah, if I knew how to spell it but since I don't I will merely say.....that I admire your audacity in selecting an actual DJA, at which point the "great fall" will indeed stop. The fact that your prediction would require, in excess of a 20% drop in the DJA....causes me even greater admiration!
This event causes me to raise the prize for this little contest, to not only a Canadian $2 coin, but a copy of "The Education of a Speculator", by Victor Niederhoffer....easily the best book on playing the markets, I have ever read. By the way, I think it's time a put a stop date to this contest, lest this eriudite crowd start charging interest from last May. Contest end date is December 22, 1997. This is the Feast Day of St. Thomas (the Doubter).....somehow appropriate.
Should the market not close "down" by over 200 DJA points by that day, there will be no winner.
