"If you followed the video graphics market back when ATI used to reign, you would know that Number Nine and Hercules were never ever close to beating Diamond's video cards utilizing the same part (ie. S3, Cirrus Logic, Tseng, Weitek, etc) "

Of course this has absolutely nothing to do with Diamond's
screw-ups since the release of Win 95. Looking back at
the good 'ole days when Hercules and Number Nine
were unable to one-up Diamond Multimedia with stable
support for the latest Microsoft operating systems doesn't
explain Diamond's present difficulties with Windows 95.
It does point out the general direction Diamond has been
headed over the past two years. All of Diamond's
competitors released faster, more stable Win 95 drivers
under exactly the same development conditions that
Diamond claims were so debilitating.

"Diamond markets faster or relatively equal performing cards at a much lower price point."

You left out the "annoying" part about unstable video
drivers and inept technical support. A low priced video
card with unstable drivers is little more than an overpriced
paper weight, as a great many disaffected Diamond customers
will attest.
