The innovative work for the trains themselves was down at least 20 years ago. 1 - Spending 20 years ago by the French government was still French government spending. Its still part of the cost. 2 - I believe some upgrades of design have happened since then. 3 - The trains themselves are more expensive then normal trains. What are you saying Tim? The TGV trains are waste of money? A little too progressive for your tastes? What is it that has you upset? That Americans didn't develop them first?
