The announcement regarding ADSL was made yesterday..ADSL is already in use..Whats new is the compression developed by INTEL and the standard agreed to by the Bells..The determining factor will be cost..However, ADSL can run over exsisting lines..I understand that the only hardware upgrade will be at the ISP level..I hope John Pierce will comment on this important news..To find more info.. Check Yahoo (posted yesterday) and AP writer Chris Allbritton AP Cyberspace writer..I got this information on the front page of my morning newspaper..Projection date for implementiation will be early this year..
