Casaubon: I guess some day I am going to have to write a book...<gg> I do something similar to what some folks call reading the tape. I look at several indicators in combination and have learned to read there interactions. I will try to give a little direction, but remember I am no guru... +DI and -DI crossing is more important than watching the ADX. (Just as important or the length and smoothing numbers.) Combine the above with a MACD and Stochastic and learn to read them in combination. (Work with the formula variables until you find what works best for your investment time frames.) Spend time looking at pivot points and look to see how the combinations come together. Work with the variables until you find "your" right combination. Then couple the above with a few basic moving averages and few very reliable chart formations and you will be on your way...<gg> Regards, LG
