I remember an aging professor telling a story in grad school about the oral exam for his doctorate in finance. He said the first question was the easiest he could imagine: "Would the Dow Jones average ever reach 1000" since no time frame was specified, and since markets ultimately go up, he did not hesitate to answer yes.

Just think how lucky we are, in the space of about a year we witnesses one of the most incredible bull runs ever and now we get to see a nasty bear. Experienced old salts after 12 months, now that's Internet time.
