DVD-RAM media are $17 for one-sided (2.6GB) and $27 for two-sided (5.2GB)......
nikkeibp.asiabiztech.com

<<The price of PDs with a storage capacity is 650MB declined from about 2,000
yen to about 1,400 yen. This is largely due to the impact of the DVD-RAM drive
released in April by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. With this DVD-RAM
drive, it is possible to read and write on a PD. In effect, the PD has taken the
position of a 640MB version of a DVD-RAM.

DVD-RAM media with one side for recording 2.6GB of data is priced at around
2,300 yen (US$17), and DVD-RAM media with both sides for recording 5.2GB
is selling for about 3,600 yen (US$27). The price of PD media is declining.

Additionally, CD-R (650MB) media declined in price by about 100 yen
(US$0.70) to about 250-300 yen (US$1.90-$2.30). >>
