Allen,

I called CNF Inc. cnfinc.com today to inquire about the ship date for their notebook ZIP drives. I have been patiently (o.k. not so patiently) waiting for this product. In fact, the pending release of notebook ZIP's from CNF for the Tecra and Thinkpads played a major role in my decision to stick with Toshiba's when I upgraded my ancient Toshiba a couple months ago. CNF said that they would be shipping the Tecra notebook ZIP's next week for $299 and that I could place my order now if I wanted to. I told them I would call back next week and verify availability before ordering. This thing is so close, I can taste it. I think using ZIP to move data/files back and forth between my notebook (which I currently use with an external ZIP) and my desktop (which has an internal ZIP) is the best use for ZIP technology. Once I get my internal notebook ZIP, I'll never have to worry about getting out the external drive and connecting the cables each time I need to transfer some data.

Good luck to all,

FF
