More "Good" news............

National Semiconductor (NSM) warned that it expects sales to fall 16-18
percent. The company will eliminate 1,100 jobs, or 10 percent of its
global workforce during the fourth quarter. The company projected it
will post a pro forma net loss of 4 cents a share to breakeven, with
revenue of approximately $390 million to $400 million in the fourth
quarter. Analysts expected the company to earn 4 cents a share, with
sales of $427 million for the fourth quarter. National Semi anticipates
that its cost-cutting measures will save the company $70 million to $80
million annually.

Microsoft (MSFT) says it expects to launch its long anticipated Window XP on October 25. (It looks like they will miss the back to school rush)........

Oracle Corp. (ORCL) will have a tough time meeting its reduced sales forecasts, according to analysts.
