Navy?s latest and most awesome conventional weapon, the guided-missile submarine My youngest was a squid who maintained Tomahawks. I think we are waaay over on Subs now, and still building more. When I run down the new weapon systems coming on line in the Military, I shake my head. Most of them could be cancelled with no problem. The F-22 Raptor is a good example. There is nothing on the Horizon that is going to be fielded in any numbers by any potential enemy that can take on our guys in the F-16. We could go another 20 years with it. On top of that we have the JSF, which is not needed either.
